From WOOD COUNTY ALCOHOL, DRUG ADDICTION, AND MENTAL HEALTH SERVICES
The Wood County Alcohol, Drug Addiction, and Mental Health Services (WCADAMHS) Board is accepting submissions for the Second Annual Behavioral Health Art Show. The exhibition celebrates the recovery journeys of individuals living with mental illness and/or substance use disorder, as well as their loved ones.
Local artists are invited to share their stories through all forms of art. Submissions are due by April 11 and can be submitted via the online form at https://form.jotform.com/wcadamhs/resilience-through-art-behavioral-h. There is no entry fee, and any work should reflect the theme of recovery and healing.
“We believe in the power of art to heal, connect, and inspire,” said WCADAMHS Executive Director Amanda Kern. “This show offers a platform for individuals to share their recovery journeys, fostering understanding, empathy, and awareness within our community. We are grateful for the opportunity to host the show again this year with support from the Wood County Historical Society, and we look forward to welcoming back familiar faces and embracing new participants and new works in this year’s event.”
The role of the WCADAMHS Board is to plan, fund and monitor services for people with serious and persistent mental illness and alcohol and other drug addictions throughout the county. The WCADAMHS Board and its member agencies are committed to providing the community with the highest quality of care. Most services offered are partially supported by Wood County levy funds and are accessible to all residents. Some services are provided without cost, while others have a fee based on the ability to pay.
