River House Arts hosts exhibit of surrealist sculpture & paintings

From RIVER HOUSE ARTS

River House Arts is presenting  “Nothing is Yours,” an exhibition of two artists whose intuitive, surrealist practices seek connection between the natural world and the human experience.  The exhibit opens in the gallery at 425  Jefferson Ave., Toledo, with a reception Saturday, March 8 from 6-8 p.m. and continues through April 5.

Featuring sculptures by NY-based Loren Eiferman and paintings by Indian artist Madhurima Ganguly, the show highlights our collective existence within both material and emotional realms.

Gallery hours are by appointment. Call or text  419-441-4025.

Loren Eiferman’s sculptures blur the lines between hand-made and naturally occurring forms. Crafted from hundreds of intricately joined pieces of wood, her sculptures encourage viewers to reflect on a deep interconnection between humans and the environment. Through decades of practice, Eiferman’s technique emphasizes the fragility of life and the significance of the natural world.

Madhurima Ganguly’s work focuses on the interior world—emotions, memory, and the experience of being female in both Eastern and Western cultures. Her figures, created with watercolor and ink, represent the fluidity and complexity of thought. Ganguly’s practice is deeply influenced by her personal and familial experience with migration and her art often meditates on misogyny, identity, and the destructive beauty of the universe.
