The Tontogany 150th Celebration committee will be hosting several events throughout the spring and summer, to commemorate the history of the village, memorialize the citizens who live (or lived) there, and pay homage to contributions made from this community to others.
Current planned events leading up to the Togany Fest include:
- Tontogany Trivia – April 9 at Doc’s Rib Cage, starting at 6:30 p.m. No fee or pre-registration is required.
- Tontogany Murder Mystery – May 9 and 10 at the Lybarger Grimm Legion Post, beginning at 7:30 p.m. The murder mystery will focus on the 1895 unsolved murder of Olive Peaney. Those wanting to attend may send $5 via Venmo@Hannah-grohowski(8222) or call/text Barb Heiman at 419-823-5362.
The celebration will culminate at the Togany Fest, which is to be held on Aug. 8 and 9. Many of the traditional events, such as the bed races, sack races, parade, and cornhole tournament will return, but there will be new events as well. These include a historic tour of the village and immediately surrounding area, presentations highlighting our community farms, and viewings of the oral history documentary completed with Bowling Green State University students.
Additional events will be planned, and listed on social media on Facebook at Tontogany 150th Celebration and on Instagram at Tontogany 150.
