Citizens concerned about more data centers in county urged to write to NW Water & Sewer District

After hearing of properties being purchased for unreasonable amounts of money, presumably for future data centers, at the January 5 Wood County Planning Commission meeting, we have sent this email to the Northwestern Water & Sewer District, which supplies our water. We recommend other citizens contact them, as well. You are welcome to use our letter as a template.

“After attending the Wood County Planning Commission meeting last night, our concerns are heightened about land being purchased for extreme amounts to construct more META Data Centers. You have assured your customers that our water takes priority and there is sufficient water, even under the current drought conditions. We question your assessment but have no choice but to accept that our water is safe. However, what are your plans as to future data centers? Please inform us of your plans for supplying future data centers with our water and how you are going to protect not only our water supply but also the health of our waterways and our crown jewel, Lake Erie?”
