Bowling Green Police are investigating a report of sexual assault made on Monday (May 25).
A woman came to the station to report that the night before she received a message on SnapChat from an acquaintance asking her to come to Bowling Green to pick him up because he was drunk and needed a ride home. The woman said she picked him up and began driving him to his house, when he told her to pull over in a parking lot in the 1000 block of North Main Street. She told police she thought he was going to throw up.
The man reportedly got into the back seat and told her to get in the back seat with him. She told police she said “no” because it was late and she wanted to get home. The man reportedly grabbed ahold of her and forced her into the back seat, where he allegedly held her down by her throat and raped her.
The woman told police she then drove him home.
The police report noted bruising on her neck, and officers checked the back seat of her vehicle for DNA. Police suggested to the woman that she go to a hospital emergency department for a sexual assault kit.
