From PERRYSBURG ROTARY COMMUNITY FOUNDATION
As Americans celebrate the freedoms secured by those who have served the nation, the Perrysburg Rotary Community Foundation has announced a $4,000 grant to The Inspired Lumber Project, a 501(c)(3) organization. The grant will be used to purchase a new SawStop table saw for its woodworking facility and Salute to Carpentry program.
The one-time equipment investment will improve safety, increase program capacity, and enhance hands-on training opportunities for veterans, first responders, instructors, volunteers, and community members who use the shop. It will improve dust collection at the source, creating a cleaner and healthier work environment while reducing the burden on the facility’s existing table saw. The additional equipment will improve class flow, expand access to a critical woodworking tool, and allow more participants to safely engage in training and open shop activities.
The Inspired Lumber Project’s mission is to empower veterans, first responders, and specialized groups through woodworking by providing access to programs designed to educate, build camaraderie, and deepen a sense of purpose. Through skill-building and meaningful connections, the organization helps participants strengthen their lives both inside and outside the workshop.
“As we celebrate our nation’s Independence Day and the freedoms secured through service and sacrifice, the Perrysburg Rotary Community Foundation is proud to support veterans and first responders through The Inspired Lumber Project,” said Jack Sculfort, executive director of the foundation. “Rotary believes in investing in people and strengthening communities. This grant will help provide a safer environment where participants can build skills, foster camaraderie, and continue finding purpose through meaningful work.”
This Independence Day, the partnership between the Perrysburg Rotary Community Foundation and The Inspired Lumber Project serves as a reminder that supporting those who have served the communities and the nation remains a meaningful way to honor the spirit of the Fourth of July. Through this investment, more veterans and first responders will have the opportunity to build skills, forge connections, and create brighter futures one project at a time.
