The Wood County Fair will forego a big-name musical act during the fair. However, tonight (July 31), the fairgrounds will welcome the popular regional band the Skittle Bots for a pre-fair concert to get the community excited about this year’s fair.
Starting tonight at 6 p.m. in the big white tent in front of the administration building, Toledo area singer/songwriter Dave Carpenter will open for the Skittle Bots. When the Skittle Bots hit the stage as concert headliners, they will perform their repertoire, primarily music from the ‘90s.
According to Fair Board President Paul Perry, instead of selling tickets online, the tickets will be a donation at the concert entrance.
Parking for the concert is in the Poe Road lot, south of the fairgrounds. The fairgrounds are located at 13800 W Poe Road, Bowling Green
The Wood County Agricultural Society (Fair Board) received a liquor permit only for the Friday night concert, allowing them to sell alcoholic beverages during the concert. At the recent fair board meeting, the board approved selling drinks for $5 each.
