From WOOD COUNTY EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT AGENCY
For today, Thursday, Sept. 3, Wood County is under a “slight” risk (2 of 5) for severe weather.
Thunderstorms are expected to develop this afternoon into this evening and continue into tomorrow morning.
Threats consist of damaging winds 60 mph or greater, one-inch hail, and an isolated tornado cannot be ruled out.
Temperatures today will remain in the low 90’s with high humidity. Tomorrow’s temperatures will be in the mid 80’s with continued high humidity. Saturday, there will be a temperature drop to the mid 70s with lowered humidity.
People are encouraged to stay weather aware today with the increased temperatures and potential for severe weather. As always, everyone should have multiple ways to receive emergency notifications.
Wood County EMA will continue to monitor and provide updates as deemed appropriate.
