The city of Perrysburg will welcome runners participating in the Garmin Marathon Toledo as the race route passes through Perrysburg on Sunday, Sept. 20. The marathon is part of the Garmin Marathon Series and will highlight some of the area’s scenic roads, including a stretch through downtown Perrysburg and along the Maumee River.
The marathon route will enter Perrysburg via Ohio State Route 65, travel through the downtown area on Front Street, and continue onto U.S. Route 20 before heading into Maumee. Runners and spectators will be able to enjoy Perrysburg’s riverfront and historic district during this stretch of the course.
To help ensure the safety of runners and the smooth operation of the event, temporary road closures, traffic diversions, and detours will be in effect beginning on Sunday, Sept. 20, at 7:30 a.m., and are expected to remain in place until approximately 1 p.m. the same day. Signage indicating closures and detours will be posted in advance beginning Friday, Sept. 18, to assist motorists and residents.
During the race, eastbound traffic on Front Street will remain open. Westbound traffic on Front Street will be prohibited due to the presence of runners along the route. A traffic diversion will also be in place at the intersection of West Boundary Street and U.S. Route 20. Traffic at this intersection will be limited to one left-turn lane and one right-turn lane.

Additionally, access to Orleans Park will be temporarily closed beginning Saturday evening, Sept. 19, and will remain inaccessible until approximately 11:30 a.m. on Sunday, Sept. 20. Residents are encouraged to plan ahead and avoid affected areas during the closure window.
