Free program to feature autumnal changes at Wintergarden

Wintergarden in the autumn

From CITY OF BOWLING GREEN

The Bowling Green Parks and Recreation Department is excited to invite the community to explore what’s happening in nature at Wintergarden through this three-part series featuring the changes in plants and wildlife throughout spring, summer, and fall. The third and final session, focusing on fall, will be on Monday, Sept. 28, from 10 – 11:30 a.m. at Wintergarden/St. Johns Nature Preserve.

A good time for enjoying cooler temperatures and colorful woodlands, fall brings fruits, seeds, late-blooming flowers, and mushrooms. Participants can marvel at the beauty of autumnal tints as they enjoy watching and listening for migratory birds and late season insects such as grasshoppers, crickets, and cicadas.

This program is led by Kim High through her Nature by High project, a free service with the vision of “enriching lives and spirits through nature and community.”
