Bruce E. Downey, age 68, of Haskins, OH passed away on September 15, 2026, at Wood County Hospital in Bowling Green, OH. He was born on January 5, 1958, in Toledo, OH to Paul Downey and Betty (Stamm) Wolf. Bruce later became a graduate of Eastwood High School.
Bruce worked in Operations at Bowling Green State University before retiring. He was an avid sports fan of the University of Michigan, the Detroit Tigers, and the Cincinnati Bengals. He was fond of his extended family and neighbors in Haskins and enjoyed their “family gatherings”. One of Bruce’s greatest enjoyments was getting together with his buddies from high school.
Bruce is survived by brother, David (Emma) Downey of CA, nephews: Chris (Lisa) Downey of Luckey, Chas (Ashley) Williams IIII of FL, Zach (Alexis) Williams of Findlay, and James (Erica) Downey of OK. Nieces: Jennifer (Harry) Steyn of Bowling Green, Courtney (Nolan) Eckel of Perrysburg, and Jessica Downey of CA. Sister-in-law, Beth Downey of Pemberville, brother-in-law Chas Williams III of Pemberville, and K-9 Pal, Chance, Bruce’s beloved Cocker Spaniel. Bruce was preceded in death by his parents, stepparents Arnie Wolf and Joyce Downey, brother Larry Downey, and sister Karen Williams.
The family will host a Celebration of Life Service at a later date.
