From EXCHANGE CLUB OF BOWLING GREEN

In August, the Exchange Club of Bowling Green welcomed guest speaker Danya Claes. Claes is the coordinator of community outreach and student wellness for BG City Schools, and she manages the Bobcat Basics program.

Bobcat Basics is a district-wide pantry for Bowling Green City Schools students that is stocked with non-perishable food, personal hygiene items, and school supplies. The pantry is supported by community donations and is free for the students.

During August and September, members of the Exchange Club collected items for Bobcat Basics and delivered them to Claes at the district offices.

The Exchange Club has three programs of service – Americanism, community service, and youth programs, and this project targeted two of those areas.

The Exchange Club meets weekly on Tuesdays at noon at Beckett’s Burger Bar. If interested in the guest speakers or joining the club, community members are welcome to attend a meting to get more information. For questions, contact the club president, Sam Beaver, at sam@thewellbg.com.
