A fire at The Link crisis hotline facility this morning has left the facility unusable. One person in the building at the time was able to get out safely.
Bowling Green Fire Division got the call at 6:06 a.m. Sunday, of fire and smoke at The Link, 1022 N. Prospect St. When firefighters arrived, there was heavy smoke in the area and flames showing through the roof in the northeast corner of the building, according to Capt. Scott Eschedor.
Firefighters had the blaze out by 6:18 a.m., Eschedor said. Then, with the help of Middleton Township Fire Department, the firefighters made sure the scene was safe.
An investigation team is looking into the cause of the blaze.
The building suffered heavy fire and smoke damage, Eschedor said.
The Link is continuing to provide its services from a location next to the burned location, at 1010 N. Prospect St.
