A groundbreaking for a new housing development in Pemberville will be held Wednesday, Dec. 19, at 1 p.m., at the future entrance to Pember Grove.
The 42-lot subdivision, called Pember Grove, is being developed by Tom Oberhouse, of Pemberville.
The 20-acre development will be located north of West Front Street, adjacent to the bike trail in the community. The lots will range from one-third of an acre to just over half an acre.
The infrastructure for the development – sewer, water, electric, gas, streets and curbs – will start after the groundbreaking and be completed by early summer next year. The lots will then be sold, with the buyers hiring their own builders.
Oberhouse, owner of North Branch Nursery in Pemberville, plans to name the streets in the development after trees. The homes in Pember Grove will be required to have front porches, in order to promote neighborly interaction among the residents.
The homes will be in the Eastwood School District, and sale of the lots will be handled by Tami Oberdick (419-461-5609) of Home Town Realty, Pemberville. The project is being financed by State Bank, Luckey.
The community is invited to the groundbreaking.
