Car body shop helps BG police solve hit-skip case

With the help of a local car body shop, Bowling Green Police Division has been able to locate the driver of a vehicle that reportedly hit two pedestrians then fled the scene.

Elijah Moses, 20, from Bowling Green, was charged with failure to stop after an accident.   Additional charges are pending.

On Sept. 6, at 3 a.m., the Bowling Green Police Division responded to the area of 706 Napoleon Road after two pedestrians were struck by a vehicle and the vehicle had left the scene.  Officers and members of the Bowling Green Fire Department arrived on scene.  Officers were advised that the suspect vehicle was a white colored vehicle.

One victim was transported to the St. Vincent Medical Center for treatment. The other victim had no injuries.

Then on Wednesday, the Bowling Green Police Division received a call from a local body shop regarding a vehicle that was brought in for work.  The employee believed that vehicle could possibly be the vehicle that was involved in the hit-skip crash.  Officers arrived on scene and with the assistance of the Bureau of Criminal Investigation processed the vehicle.

Bowling Green Police Division Detectives were able to identify the local driver of the vehicle, who admitted to being involved in the crash.

According to Bowling Green Police Lt. Dan Mancuso, the hospitalized victim is in stable condition.
