Bowling Green Parks and Recreation used the COVID shutdown period this past spring to address many of the issues typically handled during the annual maintenance shutdown at the community center so shutting down for an entire week in August will not be necessary this year.
However, the community center will need to shut down for a three-day period to refinish the gymnasium floors as the company was not available this past spring due to COVID restrictions. In order to keep everyone safe from the chemical fumes used in the refinishing process the community center will be closed Aug. 10-12.
Traditionally, during the shut down period, our passholders had complimentary use of the BGSU Recreation Center as part of a reciprocal usage agreement with them. BGSU is still in the process of determining what restrictions their facilities will be operating under as part of their reopening process. At this time, it is unknown if passholders will be able to use the BGSU facility for those 3 days.
