Wood County has reached 437 confirmed and probable COVID-19 cases since March, according to the Monday, July 6, update from the Wood County Health Department. That is an increase of 41 cases since Thursday.
As of Monday there are 63 active cases in the county – an increase of 23 since Thursday. Active cases are Wood County residents who are being monitored by the health department according to state and federal isolation criteria.
Every Wednesday, the Wood County Health Department lists “active cases” by Zip Code. As of last Wednesday, the Bowling Green area had between 16 and 20 active cases, and the Perrysburg area had between six and 10 active cases. The areas of Bloomdale, Millbury, North Baltimore, Pemberville and Walbridge all had between one and five active cases.
A total of 51 people with the virus in Wood County have died since March.
Of the 51 who have died, 26 were females, and 25 were males. Seven were in their 60s, 11 in their 70s, 23 in their 80s, and 10 in their 90s.
Of the total 437 cases in Wood County, at least 207 have been in long-term care facilities – 130 were residents and 77 were staff. Those numbers from long-term care facilities are updated every Wednesday.
The following facilities have had cases, as of July 1:
- SKLD Perrysburg: 49 residents, 7 staff.
- Kingston Residence of Perrysburg: 44 residents, 17 staff.
- Kingston Rehabilitation of Perrysburg: 11 residents, 25 staff.
- The Manor at Perrysburg: 18 residents, 6 staff.
- Otterbein Perrysburg: 4 residents, 14 staff.
- Otterbein Pemberville: 0 residents, 1 staff.
- Heritage Corner Health Care, Bowling Green: 1 resident, 3 staff.
- St. Clare Commons, Perrysburg: 1 resident, 0 staff.
- Grand Rapids Care Center: 1 resident, 0 staff.
- Briar Hill Health Campus: 1 resident, 4 staff.
According to the Ohio Department of Health, at least 42 of Wood County’s 51 deaths from COVID-19 have occurred in long-term care facilities.
Of the total 437 cases in the county as of today, those with the virus range in age from 1 to 102, with the median age of 50. Of the local cases, 254 are females and 182 are males.
A total of 70 Wood County residents have been hospitalized for the virus since March.
