Drive-thru Poppy Day planned by BG American Legion Auxiliary

Veterans Building in City Park

As Covid canceled Poppy Days last year, the Bowling Green American Legion Auxiliary is trying something different this year while protecting the health of the community.

The Bowling Green American Legion Auxiliary Unit 45, in conjunction with Bowling Green Parks and Recreation, will be holding a Poppy Drive-thru on Saturday, May 29, from 11 a.m. until 6 p.m.

The community will be able to drive through the parking lot of the Veterans Building, drop a donation in a jar and receive a packaged poppy all without getting out of their vehicle.

All donations received go directly to helping our veterans at the Sandusky Veterans Home and the Toledo VA Clinic. The poppy is a reminder of the past sacrifices and continuing needs of veterans and is a recognized symbol of sacrifice.

The legion auxiliary is asking the public to come show support of those who unselfishly served the nation.
