Three new firefighters/paramedics were sworn in, and one firefighter was promoted Monday evening during a Bowling Green City Council meeting.
Ben Jarrett was promoted to the position of lieutenant. Sworn in as firefighters/paramedics were Isaiah Miller, Benjamin Scharf and Mager Riley.
Fire Chief Bill Moorman congratulated the firefighters and their families.
“You have to have a very strong family when you become a firefighter,” Moorman said, noting the job means many missed holidays and birthdays.
“This is the future of Bowling Green,” the chief said. “I know you’re going to make us proud.”
