Catherine “Kay” Lemmerbrock, 86, of Bowling Green, went home to the Lord on Saturday, January 7, 2023, at Hospice of Northwest Ohio in Perrysburg. She was born at home in Swanton, Ohio, on January 31, 1936, to Elizabeth and Ovid Chamberlain. Following graduation from high school and one year of secretarial school, she was employed at Travelers Insurance in downtown Toledo before meeting her husband, Robert “Bob” Lemmerbrock. On April 18, 1959, Kay and Bob were married at Hope Lutheran Church in Bowling Green. They raised four children and celebrated nearly 64 years of marriage together.
Kay enjoyed sewing clothing for herself and her children when they were young. She also tended a large garden on their farm in rural Bowling Green, spending the summers canning fruits and vegetables for her family. She loved going dancing with Bob, playing cards with friends, and traveling. Her interests also included genealogy and flower arranging. At Hope Lutheran Church she was a member of the Elizabeth Circle and Women of the Church for which she held various offices, helped with Vacation Bible School, and served as Parish Secretary. After 24 years of homemaking, she opened a Merle Norman Cosmetics studio in Bowling Green and was a proud and successful business owner for over 25 years before her retirement.
Left to cherish her memory are her husband: Robert; children: Douglas (Kristin) Lemmerbrock of Bowling Green, Karen (Jim) Cajka of Luckey, Lisa (Don) Withrow of Luckey, Daniel (Sara) Lemmerbrock of Sylvania; grandchildren: Bryan (Amanda) Cajka, Brody Lemmerbrock, Erik Withrow, Julianna Cajka, Amanda Withrow, Emily Cajka, and Ava Lemmerbrock; great-grandchildren: Bryce Cajka and Natalie Cajka. She is also survived by brothers: Raymond (Kathy) Chamberlain and Lyle (Linda) Chamberlain; sister: Linda (Michael) Buck; aunt: Rose Lambert. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Friends and family will be received from 4-7 p.m., Friday, January 13, 2023, at Marsh & Marsteller Funeral Home, 4094 State Route 105, Pemberville, Ohio. Funeral services will be conducted at the funeral home at 11 a.m., Saturday, January 14, 2023. There will be additional visitation on Saturday from 10 am until the time of services. Pastor Michael Hughes will officiate. Interment will be at Fish Cemetery, Pemberville, Ohio.
