Opal M. Blausey, 91, of Pemberville, Ohio died on Wednesday, September 6, 2023, at Bowling Green Manor.
She was born on April 1, 1932, in Pemberville to the late William and Catherine (Kill) Oberhouse. She married Clifford T. Blausey on June 25, 1950. He preceded her in death on December 26, 1995. Opal’s siblings were James Oberhouse, Robert Oberhouse, Donald Oberhouse, Glen Oberhouse, and a baby sister Dorothy. She attended Pemberville High School where she was the editor of the Pemberette (yearbook), Head Majorette, and graduated in 1950.
Opal was a stay-at-home mom. Cliff and Opal were members of Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Pemberville where she was involved with the Women of the Church, Jr. Lutherans, and bible study group. Opal and Cliff traveled throughout their lives visiting many places and camping in Lake Wales Florida in the winter. Her greatest joy was babysitting with all of her grandchildren.
Surviving are her children, Chuck Blausey, Linda (Scott) Carpenter, Sandy (Rick) Leuck, and Darla (Lance) Baker. She has 10 grandchildren: Jennifer (Charles) Todd, Angela (Tim Yales) Blausey, Diane (Chris) Byers, Ted Blausey, Jolynn (Tim Schueber) Carpenter, Janna Carpenter, Emily Leuck, Kelli (Matt) Bohland, Laurel (Tyler) Miller, and Colleen (Nathan) Dix. She also has 12 great-grandchildren, and 5 great-great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband Cliff and siblings, Opal was preceded in death by her grandson, Brandon Carpenter.
Opal will be laid to rest next to Cliff in Eisenhour Cemetery at a Family Committal Service in Pemberville. A family gathering will be held at a later date and time to be announced in Harrison Park, Pemberville, OH.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial gift can be made to: The Friends of the Wood County Park District. Opal loved having family gatherings at Harrison Park; the memorial gifts will be used to purchase trees or a bench in memory of Cliff and Opal. The family would like to express thanks to Bowling Green Manor for their compassionate care of their mother.
