Bowling Green police and fire divisions responded to Walmart, on Tuesday around 4:30 p.m., after an employee called 911 for an unresponsive woman in the restroom. Store staff began performing CPR on the woman who was not breathing.
An employee told dispatch it was likely an overdose, so the responding officer opened Narcan on the way to the store so it was ready.
When the officer arrived, the woman in the restroom, Constance Elliott, 26, of Jerry City, was breathing and talking. She was lying on the floor in the handicap stall of the restroom. A capped needle was reportedly found by her head, along with “bindles” on the trash bin and toilet paper holder.
Elliott reportedly told police she had taken fentanyl. Eventually she sat up and voluntarily went with EMS to the ambulance. She was taken to Wood County Hospital.
At the hospital, Elliott reportedly told police of being contacted on Facebook about buying the fentanyl. She met up with the seller at a nearby gas station and bought $40 worth of the drug.
A search of Elliott`s wallet reportedly found many other empty small bags similar to the one with the white substance. Two additional syringes were located in her bag.
Once she was medically cleared at the hospital, Elliot was charged with drug abuse of a fentanyl related compound and possessing drug use instruments. She was taken to Wood County Jail.
