William D. Deffenbaugh, 78, of Prescott Valley, Arizona passed away peacefully May 2, 2024, in Prescott Valley.
At Bill’s request, there will be no services. Scattering of the ashes will take place at a later date.
Bill was born in Lima, Ohio to William C. and Virginia (Craft) Deffenbaugh January 31, 1946. He attended St. Patrick Catholic and Bellefontaine High Schools in Bellefontaine, Ohio. Bill earned a Bachelor’s degree from Bowling Green State University and did further study at the University of Toledo.
Bill was Executive Director of the Center for Development and Training at Owens Community College, bringing to that position years of experience as an entrepreneur, teacher, and high school and college administrator. He came out of retirement to work at the Yavapai-Prescott Indian Tribe Education Department, as well as at the Penta Career Center in Ohio.
Bill’s beloved parents, aunts, uncles, several cousins, and granddaughter Aliyah preceded him in death.
Bill is survived by his best friend and wife of 38 years, Donna; siblings Sue, Kathy, and Paul (Cheryl) Deffenbaugh; step-daughters Paula (Tom) Martin, Heather (Shawn) Robinson-Mooney, and Kimberly (Steven) Goats; grandchildren Wolfie, Mike (Allie), Emilee (Kristoph), Stone, and Ethan; great grandchildren Grayson, Ellie, Cypress, Harper, Primrose, Eli and Ella.
Arrangements are being handled by Ruffner-Wakelin Funeral Home in Prescott, Arizona. Memorials may be given to Wood County District Public Library, Bowling Green Ohio.
