The Bowling Green High School and Middle School Band Programs have launched their annual fundraising event, “Bobcat Band Day,” a three-week online campaign aimed at raising $10,000 to support the Bobcat Marching Band.

Running from September 14 to October 7, 2024, “Bobcat Band Day” is set to rally the community in support of the band’s various needs, including student scholarships, instrument purchases and repairs, and the much-needed replacement of uniforms that have been in use for over 30 years.

Under the direction of Samantha Preisner, James Gee, and Jennifer Metzger, the Bobcat Marching Band is a cornerstone of the Bowling Green High School experience. This dedicated group of more than 100 students performs at football games, parades, pep rallies, local marching festivals, and community events. The band has already showcased their talents this school year at home and away Varsity Football games, the Wood County Fair, and Rally BG.

“The Bobcat Marching Band is more than just a group of musicians; it’s a family that inspires a lifelong love for music and fosters a sense of community,” said Preisner. “We’re thrilled to launch ‘Bobcat Band Day’ and invite everyone to participate in supporting our incredible students and programs.”

The Bobcat Marching Band is renowned for its high standards and excellence, with members regularly selected for Honor Bands across Ohio. The band’s commitment to performing, building friendships, supporting the community, and creating unforgettable memories underscores their role as the “Pride of Bowling Green High School.”
