Wednesday of Thanksgiving weekend is the highest drinking night of the vear. Partygoers should be sure to have a safe way home should they be under the influence of alcohol.
Sheriff Mark Wasylyshyn announced today (11-26-24) that the Wood County Sheriff’s Office will be conducting increased patrol over the Thanksgiving Holiday thanks to grant funding from the Ohio Traffic Safety Office. This blitz will continue through Saturday Nov. 30.
Deputies will pay particular attention for violations, such as driving under the influence, failure to yield, and speeding; all of which are leading factors in fatal crashes. There will be zero tolerance for driving under the influence and seat belt violations.
