Linda L (Johnston) Hofner, 72, of Bowling Green, Ohio was called home by God on January 10th, 2025.
She was born March 14th, 1952, to the late Leonard and Helen Johnston, and was one of 14 children born to her mother. She is survived by her sisters, Hazel Leininger and Millie (Paul) Bailey.
Linda is also survived by her husband Larry J. Hofner, daughters Michelle (Henry) Lincoln, Melinda Hofner, and son John (Amy) Hofner. Proud Grandma to Rachelle, Eric (Justice) Lincoln, Diana Canterbury, Kurtland and Joshua Hofner, and Savanna Pecina. Great-grandmother to Oliver and Rowen Lincoln.
Linda was known for her culinary and baking skills. She applied these skills at private companies, a university fraternity, but spent most years at elementary schools in Bowling Green and Calvery in Toledo. Her passion was in cake decorating and baking cookies. Her family and friends enjoyed her wedding, graduation, and birthday cakes. She was known as the “Cake and Cookie Lady” to her friends, family, and church congregation.
As a founding member of Dayspring Church Bowling Green, she enjoyed spending time with her church family. Some of her favorite verse’s were Philippians 4:13: “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” And Psalms 46:5 “God is within her, she will not fail.”
Linda demonstrated a generosity that touched many lives. She will be remembered for her humble and gentle spirit.
Visitation for Linda will be held on Saturday, January 18th from 10AM-11AM with a Celebration of Life Service beginning at 11AM at Deck & Hanneman Funeral Home 1460 W Wooster St Bowling Green, OH.
Celebration of Life Service Officiant is Pastor Cody Winkler of Dayspring Church; assisted by Pastors Steve Davis and Zach Ellifritz also of Dayspring Church, Bowling Green.
A fellowship meal will be hosted and provided by Dayspring Church at Dayspring Church 17360 N Dixie Hwy. Bowling Green immediately following the service. All are welcome.
