BG residents urged to complete Main Street Safety Improvement Study available online

I am writing this letter to bring attention to the City of Bowling Green’s current Main Street Safety Improvement Study. The purpose of this study is to analyze the North Main Street corridor to Newton Road, for improvements that could be made to enhance the safety for pedestrians and bicyclists traveling and crossing the roadway.

When I saw the survey, I was very happy to complete it and give my thoughts on the North Main Street corridor as I travel that often in my motorized wheelchair to visit various businesses and family. I feel most of you in Bowling Green have driven, walked or biked this area and noticed some improvements that need to be addressed.

This study allows you to voice your opinions, comments and suggestions for future improvements. This survey is the most recent in the series of actions aimed at improving the safety of pedestrians and bicyclists, along with the Safe Routes to School Transportation Plan, improved pedestrian crossings and several shared use paths that are being planned.

Please visit the City of Bowling Green’s website https://www.bgohio.org, scroll down to the Community Spotlight section and click on the section titled “Main Street Safety Improvement Study” for more information and the link to the survey. In one of the questions, you will see pictures of the proposed travel area for pedestrians and cyclists.

I found this very helpful in answering the survey.

Please take some time today to complete the survey as it ends on Friday, Feb. 7.

Thank you,

Debbie Thompson
