The Toledo Ohio Stake of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints recently donated $10,000 to  the Bowling Green Christian Food Pantry to purchase a forklift.

Stake President Fritz Griffioen presented the check to the food pantry at 620 Railroad Ave. in Bowling Green.

Volunteer and board member Gail Whitacre told Clint Corpe of The Morning Show that demand for the food pantry’s services is constant. On the previous Friday, she said, 19 families came through in two hours. “That’s a lot of food.”

Griffioen told The Morning Show that the church partners with local groups that already have systems set up to assist people.

Part of what guides their donations is the involvement of church members in a charity. Members of the BG congregation regularly volunteer at the Christian Food Pantry.
