Area manufacturers asked to join fight against COVID-19

Northwest Ohio manufacturers and economic development partners are being asked to help in the fight against COVID-19.

Companies are being sought to fill the desperate need for personal protection equipment, like face masks, gloves and gowns.

The Ohio Manufacturers’ Association, the Ohio Hospital Association, and the Ohio Manufacturing Extension Partnership have joined forces through the Ohio Manufacturing Alliance to help combat COVID-19.

Ohio manufacturers will provide engineering capabilities and technical support to make PPE alternatives when possible, according to the Regional Growth Partnership.

Northwest Ohio companies are being asked to consider how they could re-tool their existing facilities to provide key items needed to combat COVID-19.

The governor’s office and JobsOhio are supporting this effort and all major initiatives are being directed to this process. Federal assistance may also be available to help in this effort.
