Audrey Baker announces run for Fourth Ward seat on BG City Council

Audrey Baker

Audrey Baker is running for the Fourth Ward seat on Bowling Green City Council. Originally from Paulding, she started college at Capital University, before transferring to Bowling Green State University to study politics, philosophy, economics and law.

Baker has lived in Bowling Green for the past five years and currently works as a bartender at Easystreet Cafe and Grumpy Dave’s.

“I’ve had a job since I was 14, it’s not glamorous but I understand how difficult it can be to stay afloat and the realities facing so many city residents,” she said.

Baker identified her priorities as addressing the inflating cost of living, making it easier for citizens to purchase homes, continuing efforts to improve sustainability and walkability in Bowling Green, and protecting the city’s marginalized communities.

“I believe that just like Covid or the Great Recession, the next four years will present us with all kinds of challenges – like the federal funding crisis already facing the city. We need bold voices and dynamic leadership to navigate what’s coming. That’s exactly the kind of councilwoman I promise to be,” she said.
