From WOOD COUNTY MUSEUM
The Wood County Museum will host a free meet-and-greet and book signing event with best-selling author Kate Moore (of the book “Radium Girls”) on Saturday, June 15 at 2 p.m. at the Wood County Museum.
Moore will present on her latest book “The Woman They Could Not Silence,” about a woman’s experiences in asylums in the 1800s.
The program will be held right outside the Wood County Museum’s own Lunatic Asylum and a special temporary exhibit from the National Library of Medicine, The Yellow Wallpaper, will be on display as well.
Moore will also be doing a book signing while at the Wood County Museum. Books will be available for sale in the Museum Gift Shop.
“The Woman They Could Not Silence,” is a triumphant tale of resilience, challenging the status quo, and the enduring power of the human spirit. Moore’s meticulous research and rich historical detail bring Elizabeth Packard’s story to life, painting a vivid portrait of a woman who defied society’s expectations and paved the way for future generations.
The meet-and-greet event is free to the public, but reservations are appreciated.
The Wood County Museum will be open for tours with regular admission. Visit woodcountyhistory.org or call 419-352-0967 for more information.
