From PERRYSBURG SCULPTURE WALK
Music, artmaking, sculpture awards, and a curator-led tour marked the Labor Day opening of the Sixth Annual Perrysburg Sculpture Walk at Woodlands Park.
Children created their own sculpture inspired by works in the new exhibit, while Hepcat Revival entertained the crowd with a concert. Area artists were among those attending the celebration, which concluded with a tour led by Sculpture Walk curator and coordinator Robin Ballmer.
Six juried sculpture awards selected by exhibition judges Julia LaBay and Tom Zitzelberger were announced during the program.
The 2027-27 award recipients were:
- Best of Show: “She Came to Me in Spring” by J. Aaron Alderman
- First Place: “The Daydreamer” by Eoin Cullen
- Second Place: “Albers” by Ray Katz
- Honorable Mention: “Observer” by George Farbotko
- Honorable Mention: “Darling Lily” by Pam Reithmeier
- Honorable Mention: “Leak” by Todd Kime
Perrysburg Mayor Mark Weber independently selected “Observer” by George Farbotko for the Mayor’s Award and presented the award to Farbotko during the opening. Because it was selected separately from the juried awards, “Observer” received both a juried Honorable Mention and the Mayor’s Award.
Farbotko and Pam Reithmeier attended the opening. Weber also presented Reithmeier with the Honorable Mention award for “Darling Lily.” The remaining recipients live outside Ohio and were unable to attend.
The Sixth Annual Perrysburg Sculpture Walk features a new collection of 13 works by artists representing five states. The sculptures are displayed along the perimeter and entryway of Woodlands Park, 429 E. Boundary St., Perrysburg.
