Beamer, who ‘will be your best friend for a piece of cheese’ is waiting for a home

Beamer, a 1-year-old pittie mix that was found running loose at the Amazon store in Perrysburg, is waiting at the Wood County Dog Shelter for someone to give him a home.

He is very sweet, but is nervous when you first meet him, according to Wood County Chief Dog Warden Jodi Harding.

“We are recommending when you come visit him to bring the whole family, including other dogs,” Harding said. “He will be your best friend for a piece of cheese. He will need a patient owner who will let him come out of his shell, but once he does he is the friend that won’t leave your side. He loves to go for walks and walks well on a leash.”

The Wood County Dog Shelter is located at 1912 E. Gypsy Lane Road, Bowling Green, phone 419-354-9242.

The adoption fee for all shelter dogs is $89, which includes a $14 Wood County dog license, and $75 vet voucher toward spay/neuter and vaccines if needed. The hours for the shelter are Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Thursday from 8:30 a.m. to noon and 3:30 to 4:30 p.m., and Saturday from 9 a.m. to noon. The shelter is closed on Sundays.
