Bowling Green Fire Division gained two new firefighters and promoted three firefighters to the position of captain during Monday evening’s City Council meeting.
Nathan Schwiebert and Cory Sloas were sworn in as firefighters by Municipal Administrator Lori Tretter, in the absence of Mayor Mike Aspacher. Promoted to captain were Dustin Bauman, Ronald Closson and Nathan Espinoza.
Families of all the firefighters were present for the swearing in and promotions. And fellow Bowling Green firefighters filled the back of council chambers.
Fire Chief Bill Moorman spoke of the commitment required to be in the fire service – not only by firefighters themselves, but also by their families.
