Bowling Green Fire Division gained a new firefighter and a new lieutenant Monday evening during a City Council meeting.
Mayor Mike Aspacher promoted Mike Brown to lieutenant after eight years of service on the fire division. Fire Chief Bill Moorman described Brown’s dedication to the job, his quiet confidence, reliability, and ability to bring calm to stressful situations.
Aspacher also swore in Vicky Beilfuss, who just completed her one-year of probation on the department. Moorman talked about the long hours, intense training and commitment to the community. The chief reminded that the families of firefighters are also asked to sacrifice – with missed birthdays and holidays, long hours and plenty of worries.
