A Bowling Green man was arrested Thursday afternoon for violating a protection order.
Michael Shawn Gonzales, 47, called Bowling Green Police Division to “keep the peace” while he gathered some belongings from his residence in the 1000 block of North Grove Street.
Gonzales stated that he had just been released from the Wood County Jail. He failed to mention that he was in jail due to a domestic violence situation the night before, and that he had been served with a protection order before he left jail. And he did not tell police that he had already been at the residence to pick up belongings.
Police took Gonzales to the apartment, where friends of the woman said that Gonzales “barged” into the residence about 30 minutes prior to him arriving with police.
Gonzalez reportedly admitted going to residence in violation of the protection order.
He was arrested and taken back to Wood County Jail.
