BG man wanted for aggravated robbery in City Park

Martez Mitchell

The Bowling Green Police Division is searching for 20-year-old Martez Mitchell of Bowling Green in connection with an aggravated robbery that occurred in BG City Park located at 520 Conneaut Ave.

On June 30, at approximately 9 p.m., BGPD officers responded to City Park for a report of a male pointing a gun at another male.  Officers did not locate anyone involved in the incident at that time.

The subsequent investigation uncovered that the incident was initially a drug transaction between Noah Waszak and Martez Mitchell.  During the transaction, Mitchell pulled a gun on Waszak and robbed him of approximately two ounces of marijuana and THC vape cartridges.

Police and Waszak initially thought the weapon was a firearm because it looked like a real firearm. However, it turned out to be a BB gun.

“Until we recovered it, we thought it was real,” Deputy Chief Justin White said. He also pointed out that a BB gun can cause injury to a person.

On July 3, Noah Waszak was arrested for trafficking in drugs and transported to the Wood County Justice Center.  Martez Mitchell was charged with aggravated robbery and an arrest warrant was issued.

Mitchell is a white male, with brown hair and eyes, who is 5 feet 9 inches tall, weighing 180 pounds.

Anyone having information on Martez Mitchell’s whereabouts is encouraged to contact the Bowling Green Police Division 419-352-1131, Wood County Crimestoppers at 1-800-54-CRIME, or their local law enforcement agency.  You may remain anonymous and if information results in the arrest and conviction of a suspect, you could be eligible for a cash reward of up to $1000.
