BG Police arrest allegedly intoxicated man who reportedly gave officer real and fake driver’s licenses

In a string of incidents involving alcohol this past week, Bowling Green Police arrested a man who reportedly handed police his real driver’s license and a fake license before reportedly trying to hide it from officers.

Police pulled over a Chevrolet truck Sunday around 3:10 a.m., that was reportedly being driven without headlights as it traveled eastbound on East Wooster Street near Enterprise Street. As the driver pulled over in the 400 block of East Wooster Street, he reportedly ran over the curb, and drove past the parking spot into the gravel along the CSX railroad tracks.

The driver, Collin Bils, 19, of Nevada, Ohio, reportedly appeared confused when informed that the truck headlights were not on. According to the officer, Bils had bloodshot glassy eyes, slurred speech, and two bar wristbands on – but told police he was not old enough to drink.

According to the report, Bils attempted to hand the officer his real license, which had the fake license underneath. He reportedly ripped the fake ID out of the officer’s hand and stuffed it into the driver’s seat.

In the truck, officers found four open 12-ounce beer cans in the driver’s side door.

Bils reportedly refused to perform field sobriety tests, and would not submit a breath sample.

Bils was taken to the Wood County Jail and charged with operating a vehicle while under the influence of alcohol, driver’s license misrepresentation, driving without lights, failure to drive in marked lanes, underage possession of alcohol, open container in a moving motor vehicle, and obstructing official business.
