BG Police arrest Holgate man for allegedly attacking another man in parking lot

Bowling Green Police arrested a Holgate man for assault after he allegedly attacked another man on Christmas Eve day.

Police received a call about a fight in the parking lot at 1616 E. Wooster St., around 12:20 p.m. They arrived to find David Flores, 53, on top of an injured man. Flores was taken to Wood County Jail, and the victim was taken to Wood County Hospital.

Police recorded that the victim’s face was bloodied and bruised, three clumps of his hair that had been yanked out were found on the ground, and his eyeglasses were broken. The victim said Flores had initially tried to attack him in his car using a multi-tool knife, then pulled him from his vehicle. A witness reported that Flores had a knee on the victim’s head as he repeatedly hit him.

Police found the multi-tool knife reportedly used by Flores after it had been dropped in the victim’s car.

The victim reportedly told police that Flores had previously threatened him in Henry County.

The police report noted that Flores allegedly told officers that if he was younger and in better shape, he would have really put on a show for police.
