Bowling Green Police arrested a Jerry City man for felonious assault and menacing after he reportedly injured a 16-year-old boy.
David Weaver, 19, was arrested early today (Tuesday) and taken to Wood County Jail.
Police were called to an apartment in the 300 block of Colony Lane on Monday around 7:20 p.m., for an injured boy, who said Weaver strangled him. Weaver had reportedly been on the phone with someone else in the apartment when Weaver said he was coming to the apartment to “kick his ass.”
When Weaver arrived, the boy said he ran to get away, with Weaver chasing him to a back room. The boy told police Weaver pinned him against the wall by his neck and lifted him off the ground. EMS was called to take the teen to the hospital.
When Weaver was contacted by phone, he reportedly told police he would not return to Bowling Green, and they would hear from his attorney on Tuesday.
At approximately 12:20 Tuesday morning, a BGPD officer and two Wood County Sheriff’s Deputies went to Weaver’s home and picked him up. Weaver reportedly told police he pushed the boy against the wall in a back bedroom and again in the dining room, but did not hit him.
