Bowling Green Police arrested a 13-year-old boy for aggravated menacing after he allegedly sent threatening text messages to another teen.

Police were called to a home in the 300 block of Parkview Avenue on Saturday afternoon after a girl showed her mother texts from the boy. The messages reportedly suggested that the girl end her life by jumping off a cliff or a bridge. Those were followed by texts stating the boy planned to bring a knife to school to kill her. The girl reportedly told police she was afraid to go to school.

When police picked up the boy, he denied sending such texts. However, police reportedly found the messages in the deleted folder on his phone.

The boy was taken to Wood County Juvenile Detention Center.
