Bowling Green Police arrested a man and woman Sunday (Sept. 24) evening for domestic violence. Steven Sharp, 48, and Cory Faulkner, 48, both of Bowling Green, were taken to Wood County Jail.
According to the police report, Sharp came to the police station around 5 p.m. to report an assault. He reportedly had a small laceration on his forehead that was actively bleeding.
Earlier in the day, police had been at the home in the 500 block of South Main Street shared by Sharp and Faulkner, when Sharp collected some of his belongings and left.
Sharp told police he later returned to the home to collect more belongings – specifically some food – and he was assaulted.
Faulkner reportedly began filming Sharp on her phone, and Sharp said he pushed the phone out of the way. Sharp said Faulkner began hitting him with her hands, and then picked up items to strike him with. He reportedly told police that he did not push or strike Faulkner.
Meanwhile, Faulkner called police to ask for an officer to come to the house. She told police that Sharp had returned home to get his meth pipe, and that he struck her twice. She reportedly admitted to hitting Sharp once with the leg of a table Sharp had broken.
According to police, the video showed Sharp forcefully knocking the phone from Faulkner’s hand, then charging toward Faulker, pushing her and grabbing her arm. The video shows the pair struggling with both parties striking each other, including Faulkner striking Sharp with a piece of wood. She was arrested and taken to jail.
Police returned to the house later in the evening to arrest Sharp, who reportedly tried to slam the door closed on officers. He was also taken to jail.
