Bowling Green Police arrested a man after he allegedly punched a woman multiple times in the head. Adam Gunn, 36, was charged with domestic violence and taken to the Wood County jail.
Police received a call Saturday around 6:21 p.m. from the 300 block of Derby Avenue about a possible domestic violence in progress.
When police arrived, they met a woman outside the home who said Gunn and his girlfriend had been staying at her apartment for about a week. She told police that she had witnessed Gunn punching his girlfriend, then reportedly saw Gunn cut himself with a knife. The woman walked outside to call police, and Gunn reportedly locked her out of her home.
Police reported hearing loud screaming coming from inside the apartment, and upon entering saw Gunn and his girlfriend.
Gunn told an officer that his girlfriend had stabbed him. The officer saw some scratch marks that were slightly bleeding on Gunn’s chest area. According to the police report, Gunn was talking really fast, screaming, crying, appeared to be foaming at the mouth, and accused his girlfriend of trying to kill him.
The girlfriend told police that Gunn had punched her in the back of the head three times. She said she ran to the corner by the front door, where he reportedly punched her in the head again. The woman told police that Gunn then grabbed a steak knife and cut his chest three or four times. The woman said he then dragged her around the living room and the TV fell on her feet.
Gunn has two prior domestic violence convictions – one in Findlay and another in Monroe County, Michigan.
