BG Police arrest man for assault after neighbor reported hearing woman calling for help

Bowling Green Police arrested a man for assault and criminal trespassing after a neighbor reported hearing a disturbance and a woman calling for help.

Officers responded to an apartment in the 1000 block of Third Street on Sunday (July 21) at 6:25 a.m. They found a woman with several bruises, and a swollen wrist and knuckle – reportedly from Alfredo Escobar slamming a door on her arm to keep her from leaving.

Police arrested Escobar, 48, of Bowling Green, for assault and criminal trespassing, and took him to Wood County Jail. Officers have responded multiple times to the apartment, and Escobar had been ordered in June to not return to the residence.
