Bowling Green Police Division responded to a domestic dispute Saturday, Oct. 9, to the same location officers have been called to eight times this year.
Police charged both the 36-year-old man and 34-year-old woman with domestic violence. The male was transported to the Wood County Jail, and the woman stayed home to care for their children.
The woman told police dispatch that the man had kicked her. When police arrived, they saw small scratches on his face. There were no visible injuries to the female. The male told police they had been arguing over “the same stuff.”
Neither wanted the other person charged. She said she wanted the male to leave. She told police that earlier in the evening she was walking about a block from their home and the male followed her. She said maletried to get her to go home, and kicked her.
She told police she is on a waiting list to get into a local women’s shelter.
Police talked to the couple’s oldest son, who said his parents argue often.
Due in part to the lengthy history of domestic violence incidents between the two, it was decided to charge both parties. The male has a prior conviction for domestic violence, so he was charged with felony domestic violence and taken to the Wood County Justice Center. She was issued a citation for domestic violence and released so that she could care for children at the home.
