BG police cite driver for fleeing during traffic stop, and driving under suspension

Bowling Green police were involved in the pursuit of a vehicle early Saturday morning after the driver took off during a traffic stop.

At approximately 12:03 a.m., the Bowling Green Police Division stopped a vehicle for speed on Fairview Avenue at Liberty Street.  As the officer approached the vehicle, the suspect fled the scene in his vehicle.

Officers checked the area and were unable to locate the suspect.  During the investigation of the incident officers were able to identify the driver.

Charges were filed on Tyler Carter, 19, from Portage, for failure to comply with the order of a police officer, speed, willful wanton disregard–private property and driving under suspension.
