BG Police cite man for criminal mischief, resisting arrest

Bowling Green Police Division arrested a Findlay man Monday for criminal mischief and resisting arrest.

Police were called to the Subway at 524 E. Wooster St., at 6:43 p.m., for a “vagrant” loitering inside the business. When the officer arrived at the business, Traves Poe, 35, of Findlay, reportedly approached the officer. Poe reportedly asked the officer if he was a police officer and if he could give him a ride to Findlay.

The officer reportedly told Poe that he could not give him a ride to Findlay. The officer asked Poe for identification, and he reportedly showed a United Way of Hancock County photo ID.

Dispatch informed the officer that Poe had a warrant for his arrest from Hardin County Sheriff’s Office for failing to appear for processing within 72 hours of release. The warrant included a note of caution due to reported violent tendencies.

The officer told Poe that he had a warrant, pulled out his Taser, and told him to lay on the ground. Poe refused to follow repeated commands, according to the police report. Once other officers arrived, Poe was handcuffed and escorted out of the business.

While he was being searched, Poe reportedly began spitting on the ground and yelling. He was placed in a police cruiser and repeatedly spit in the vehicle on the way to Wood County jail, according to the report.
