BG Police Division responds to 296 calls over the weekend

Bowling Green Police Station

To offer a glimpse into this past weekend for the Bowling Green Police Division, there were 296 computer aided dispatch calls from 3 p.m. on Friday until 8 a.m. Monday.

The calls ranged from requests to unlock vehicles, to traffic stops for speeding, to fights, according to BGPD Deputy Chief Adam Skaff. Many of the police responses over the weekend dealt with alcohol violations and loud parties.

There were also two catalytic converter thefts and a scam reported, an arrest for obstructing, a few citations for operating a vehicle while under the influence, and 10-15 alcohol arrests.

Of the nearly 300 calls, 57 required full reports, meaning they were incidents that could not be handled fairly quickly, Skaff said.
