BG Police find handgun in truck after crash, after driver reportedly took license plate and ran from scene

Bowling Green Police responded to a vehicle crash Sunday (9/1) around 12:30 a.m., after a white pickup reportedly hit a pole in a parking lot in the 1100 block of Fairview Avenue.

A witness to the incident told police he saw a man running from the scene, carrying a license plate.

During an inventory search of the truck, police reportedly found a Remington 380 handgun behind the passenger seat. The gun had two rounds in the magazine.

The owner listed for the pickup had a Toledo address, so BGPD contacted Lucas County for information.
