A Bowling Green police officer was flagged down by two women in the 100 block of East Wooster Street on Wednesday around 2:40 a.m.
One of the women reported being sexually assaulted inside a bar in that block. The woman said an older man slapped her butt and grabbed between her legs. She gave police a description of the man.
Police reviewed footage from downtown cameras, which showed a man matching the description getting into a car shortly after the time of the incident. While the vehicle was stopped at light at Court Street and North Main, a camera caught a partial license plate.
Dispatch found a match for the plate, and a BMV photo of the driver. Police planned to follow up with the victim to do a photo lineup.
